Building a 360° camera support rig

Why 360° supports are different. A 360° camera sees everything around it, including the tripod. Good 360° supports are therefore thin, low-profile and placed directly under the lenses, so the support falls into the nadir (the blind spot below the camera) and can be patched out easily in editing.

Base + pole is the usual combination. A small, low tripod base keeps the legs out of frame, and an extension pole lifts the camera to eye level (about 150–170 cm) or higher for overviews. Check that base and pole are compatible and that the load rating covers your camera, especially at full height.
