Compatibility

Setup and use

1. Unbox the computer, connect it to mains power, a monitor, keyboard and mouse for first start-up; VR performance is always best on mains power.
2. Complete Windows setup, then run Windows Update and install the latest NVIDIA graphics driver from NVIDIA or the manufacturer's support app.
3. Install your headset's PC software (for example SteamVR, Meta Quest Link, VIVE Hub or PICO Connect) and follow its room-setup wizard.
4. Connect the headset: by cable to a USB-C/DisplayPort or Thunderbolt port, or wirelessly over Wi-Fi 6/6E with the PC wired to the router by Ethernet for the most stable stream.
5. Run a short VR session to confirm frame rate and stability before deploying the machine to users or a public venue.

Care and maintenance

Keep air intakes and exhausts clear and clean dust from vents every few months, especially in arcades and classrooms where machines run for hours. Update Windows, the graphics driver and your VR runtime regularly, as headset makers optimise performance through driver and runtime updates. Use a surge-protected power strip, back up important data, and for fleets consider imaging one configured machine and cloning it to the rest.
