This VR base station is the replacement Base Station 1.0 ("Lighthouse") tracking sensor for the original HTC VIVE system. If one of your two base stations has been dropped, damaged or stopped working, it gets your room-scale setup tracking again.

It works together with the sensors on the headset and controllers, sweeping the room with infrared so your position and movement are reproduced instantly in VR.

A standard 1/4" thread lets you mount it on a tripod, ball head or any wall or ceiling mount. It comes with a micro-USB cable and a power adapter.

How to choose the right VR accessory

Check the exact headset model first. VR accessories are rarely universal: a Quest 3 strap does not fit a Quest 3S facial interface slot, a VIVE Pro link box is different from a VIVE Pro 2 link box, and base stations 1.0 and 2.0 cannot be mixed. The compatibility section above lists every headset the part is designed for.

For PC VR connections, confirm your graphics card's outputs (DisplayPort, USB-C with DisplayPort, HDMI) and your USB ports before buying cables, link boxes or wireless adapters. Longer cables add freedom of movement but need careful routing to avoid tripping.

For comfort and hygiene, shared headsets benefit from wipeable silicone or leather-style covers and spare facial interfaces, while battery straps and charging docks make long sessions and quick turnarounds easier.

Setup and use

1. Mount it high in a corner, angled down 30–45° toward the play area.
2. Connect the power adapter.
3. Set the channel so the two stations differ (b/c or sync cable).
4. Run room setup in SteamVR.

Care and maintenance

Keep tracking sensors and IR windows clean and free of stickers or tape, charge devices regularly, and update firmware through the companion software to keep tracking accurate.
