Pro VR mobile workstation: overview

This 16-inch mobile workstation for pro VR is built for heavy 3D, simulation and professional VR workloads: a 24-core Intel Core i9-13950HX, an NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation GPU with 12 GB, 64 GB of memory (up to 128 GB) and a 2 TB SSD on Windows 11 Pro.

It gives engineers and trainers workstation-class graphics and drivers in a laptop, so design reviews and VR training can travel to the client or the shop floor.

It is supplied through our professional VR-integration partner, so configurations are confirmed at the time of quote and we can advise on the headset, adapters and software that match it.

Who the pro vr mobile workstation is for

  • Engineering and architecture teams reviewing CAD in VR
  • Digital-twin and simulation labs
  • Corporate training centres with managed IT
  • Universities and research groups
  • Visualisation studios needing certified drivers

Compatibility

Connects to PC VR headsets over Thunderbolt/USB-C or HDMI and streams to standalone business headsets. We confirm your headset's requirements with the quote.

Setup and use

  1. Unbox the laptop, connect the charger and run it on mains power for first start-up; VR performance is always best on mains power.
  2. Complete Windows setup, then run Windows Update and install the latest NVIDIA graphics driver from NVIDIA or the manufacturer's support app.
  3. Install your headset's PC software (for example SteamVR, Meta Quest Link, VIVE Hub or PICO Connect) and follow its room-setup wizard.
  4. Connect the headset: by cable to a USB-C/DisplayPort or Thunderbolt port, or wirelessly over Wi-Fi 6/6E with the PC wired to the router by Ethernet for the most stable stream.
  5. Run a short VR session to confirm frame rate and stability before deploying the machine to users or a public venue.

Care and maintenance

Keep air intakes and exhausts clear and clean dust from vents every few months, especially in arcades and classrooms where machines run for hours. Update Windows, the graphics driver and your VR runtime regularly, as headset makers optimise performance through driver and runtime updates. Use a surge-protected power strip, back up important data, and for fleets consider imaging one configured machine and cloning it to the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Is it powerful enough for VR?

Yes. The NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada (12 GB) meets or exceeds the recommended requirements of current mainstream PC VR headsets and streaming solutions; very high-resolution headsets at maximum settings benefit most from the higher GPU tiers in our range.

Which headsets can I use with it?

Tethered PC VR headsets (DisplayPort/USB-C) and standalone headsets streamed from the PC over cable or Wi-Fi, such as Meta Quest, PICO and VIVE business headsets. Tell us your headset and we confirm the right ports and adapters.

How much memory does it have?

64 GB, expandable to 128 GB.

Which operating system is installed?

Windows 11 Pro.

Why is there no price shown?

Configurations and availability change as manufacturers refresh their line-ups, so this machine is quote-based. We confirm the exact configuration, lead time and price in writing.

Can I order several identical machines?

Yes. Fleet orders for classrooms, arcades and training rooms are common; ask for volume pricing and matching configurations.

Can it run VR on battery?

It can, but VR is a heavy load: plug in the charger for full GPU performance and longer sessions.

Can I upgrade the RAM?

Yes, up to 128GB.

Is it certified for CAD?

It uses a professional RTX Ada GPU with workstation drivers.

How is it priced?

On request. Configurations change often, so we quote the exact build, lead time and delivered price.

Pair it with one of our PC VR and standalone headsets, or see enterprise VR headsets for business deployments.
