Best Meta Quest 3 Accessories: Straps, Batteries, Cases and More
MetaNexus XR Team · October 31, 2026

The short answer
- Buy first: a battery head strap. The 6000mAh battery strap (€61) roughly doubles playtime and fixes the front-heavy feel of the stock strap. For all-day sessions, the BOBOVR E3 Pro 10000mAh (€118) has a hot-swap battery.
- Comfort only, no battery: the DEVASO retractable strap (€49) or the folding FIIT VR T300 Elite (€48) for travel.
- Hygiene and sweat: a washable silicone face cover (€29); for hot rooms, the active fan mask (€39).
- Protection: a hard EVA case (€62) for travel and a lens film kit (€42). Lenses scratch easily and cannot be replaced cheaply.
- PC VR: a 5 m link cable with amplifier (€47) turns the Quest 3 into a wired PC VR headset.
The Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S are excellent headsets with two weak spots. The stock strap is soft fabric, so the weight pushes on your cheeks and forehead. The battery lasts about two hours. Fix those two and the headset feels like a different product. After that, a few cheap accessories protect the lenses, keep the face pad clean and make sports games feel real.
This guide sorts Quest 3 accessories into what is worth buying first, what is nice to have, and what to skip. Every pick fits the Quest 3, and most fit the Quest 3S too. We say so clearly where one does not. Prices are our live store prices.
What to buy first
| Priority | Accessory | Why | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Battery head strap | More playtime and better balance, in one upgrade | €61 |
| 2 | Washable face cover | The foam pad soaks up sweat; silicone wipes clean | €29 |
| 3 | Hard case | Protects lenses and controllers in a bag | €34 |
| 4 | Controller grips | Relaxed hands; no dropped controllers | €40 |
| 5 | Charging dock | Always charged, always in one place | €83 |
| Optional | Link cable | Only if you play PC VR | €47 |
| Optional | Sports grips | Only if you play golf, padel or table tennis | €46 |
If you only buy one thing, buy a strap with a battery. It solves comfort and battery life at the same time, because the battery at the back balances the weight of the headset at the front.
Battery and comfort head straps
A rigid strap with a dial cradles the back of your head, so the headset is held by your skull and not squeezed against your face. Adding a battery at the back makes it a counterweight. The choice is mainly about how long you play.
| Strap | Battery | Extra play | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6000mAh battery strap | 6000mAh, built in | About +2 h | Most players |
| BOBOVR E3 Pro | 10,000mAh, hot-swap | About +3–4 h, unlimited with a spare | Long sessions, Made for Meta |
| BOBOVR S3 Pro | 10,000mAh, hot-swap + fan | About +3–4 h | Fitness and hot rooms |
| HelioCore H3 Pro | Hot-swap magnetic | Swap and keep playing | Value hot-swap |
| DEVASO strap | None | — | Light comfort upgrade |
| FIIT VR T300 Elite | None | — | Travel: folds flat |
Best for most people: 6000mAh battery strap
A rigid, dial-adjusted band with a 6000mAh cell at the back. It feeds the headset through its charging port while you play and adds about two hours to a session, close to doubling it.
The battery is the counterweight, so the headset stops pulling down on your cheeks.
Good: Simple, affordable, fixes both weak spots. Watch out: The battery is built in, so when it is empty you stop.

Best for long sessions: BOBOVR E3 Pro 10000mAh
Made for Meta certified, with a 10,000mAh battery you can swap without turning off the headset, 22.5W fast charging and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
With a second battery you never have to stop. It fits both the Quest 3 and the Quest 3S.
Good: Most capacity, hot-swap, official certification. Watch out: At 449 g it is the heaviest option.

Best for fitness: BOBOVR S3 Pro with cooling fan
The same 10,000mAh hot-swap idea, plus a built-in fan that moves air across your face. For Beat Saber, boxing and other sweaty games it keeps the lenses from fogging up.
Good: Cooling and battery in one strap. Watch out: Costs about the same as the E3 Pro; pick it only if you sweat.

Value hot-swap: HelioCore H3 Pro
Our own hot-swap strap: the magnetic battery clicks off and a charged one clicks on, so you can keep playing.
Good: The cheapest way to hot-swap. Watch out: Buy a spare battery to get the full benefit.

Comfort only: DEVASO retractable strap
A light (235 g) rigid strap that extends from 22 to 29 cm, so it fits by length and not by squeezing. Good if you already have a power bank or play short sessions.
Good: Light and cheap. Watch out: Quest 3 only; no battery.

Best for travel: FIIT VR T300 Elite
Folds flat to fit in a case, weighs 233 g and uses memory foam and protein leather on the back pad. The same page also offers the DEVASO V2.0 and JYS MQ010 comfort straps.
Good: Packs small. Watch out: No battery; Quest 3 only.

Face covers and cooling
The stock face pad is foam. It absorbs sweat and is hard to clean, which matters if you share the headset or play fitness games. A silicone or leather cover fixes that. If your lenses fog up, a fan helps more than any cover.
Easiest to clean: WOLMTT silicone cover
A silicone cover that goes over the facial interface. Sweat stays on the surface and wipes off in seconds.
Good: Cheap and hygienic. Watch out: Silicone can feel warm in long sessions.

Best for fogging: FIIT VR X3 active fan mask
A top cover with a real fan, plus a pressure-relief sponge mask. The airflow stops fogging and keeps your face cooler.
Good: Active cooling, comfort pad included. Watch out: Quest 3 only.
€39 · See it
For Quest 3S owners: STARTRC leather or lycra mask
A replacement face mask for the Quest 3S, in leather (durable, wipes clean) or lycra (breathable). Choose the magnetic fan or the AMVR FC5 anti-fog version if your lenses fog up.
Good: Made for the 3S face shape. Watch out: Quest 3S only.

Controller grips
Grips let you relax your hand without dropping the controller, and they stop the controllers knocking together. Look for an opening for the battery, so you can change AA batteries without taking the cover off.
Best everyday grips: cover with battery access
Fits Quest 3 and Quest 3S controllers and keeps the battery door open, so swapping batteries takes seconds.
Good: Fits both headsets. Watch out: No knuckle strap length change.

Longer reach: extended-handle grips
Soft silicone with a longer handle. It helps in games where you swing, like sword and sports games, and reduces hand fatigue.
Good: Comfortable for long sessions. Watch out: Adds length you may not want in shooters.

Play shooters? A gun stock holds both controllers like a real rifle and makes aiming much steadier. See our VR gun stock buying guide.
Cases and lens protection
The most expensive damage to a Quest is a scratched lens. It often happens in a bag, or when sunlight hits the lenses for a few seconds (it can burn the screen). Always store the headset in a case, lenses covered.
Best for travel: hard EVA case with shoulder strap
A rigid EVA shell that survives a backpack, with a shoulder strap included. It holds the headset, controllers and cable.
Good: Real protection, hands free. Watch out: Bulkier than a soft bag.
€62 · See it
Best for home: KIWI design felt case
A padded felt bag with a pouch for accessories and a hidden AirTag pocket. Fits Quest 3S, 3 and 2.
Good: Light and cheap. Watch out: Only fits the stock strap, not a rigid one.
€34 · See it
Protect the lenses: PC shell with 3 lens films
A transparent hard shell for the headset plus three tempered-glass lens films. The films take the scratches instead of the lenses.
Good: Cheap insurance for the most fragile part. Watch out: Apply the film in a dust-free room.

Charging docks and power banks
A dock is not essential, but it means the headset is always charged and always in the same place. A power bank is the alternative to a battery strap if you prefer the stock strap or share the headset.
Charges everything: BOBOVR D3 dock
Charges the Quest 3, both controllers (with the included battery covers) and a spare BOBOVR B100 battery at the same time.
Good: The whole kit topped up at once. Watch out: Made around the Quest 3 and BOBOVR batteries.

Fast and simple: 30W dock with RGB
A 30W stand for the headset with cradles for the two controllers and a status light.
Good: Fast charging, tidy desk. Watch out: Controllers need rechargeable batteries to charge.
€83 · See it
Hands-free power: 10000mAh neck power bank
Worn around the neck, so the weight is on your shoulders and not on the cable. Works with any USB-C headset: Quest 2, 3, 3S, PICO and VIVE.
Good: About two extra charges; works with other headsets too. Watch out: A cable runs to the headset.
€159 · See it
Pocket battery: 5000mAh 18W pack
A pocket battery for about one extra full charge, with a four-dot LED gauge.
Good: Small; clip it to a waistband. Watch out: Less capacity than a battery strap.

Link cable for PC VR
The Quest 3 can play SteamVR games from a gaming PC over Wi-Fi (Air Link) or over a USB-C cable (Link). The cable gives a steadier picture with less compression and charges the headset while you play. The catch is length: past about 3 metres a normal USB 3 cable loses signal and drops to slow speeds.
5 m link cable with signal amplifier
A built-in amplifier keeps USB 3.0 data at up to 5 Gbps over the full 5 metres and delivers 3A charging. Works with Quest 3, Quest 3S and PICO 4.
Good: Long enough for room-scale; stable signal. Watch out: Use a USB 3 port on the PC.

Planning to play mostly PC VR? A dedicated PC headset may be the better buy; our VR headset guide compares them.
Sports accessories: golf, padel, table tennis
Sports games feel far more real when the controller has the weight and shape of the real thing. Your swing improves because your arm learns the right movement.
Golf: WOLMTT ergonomic golf grip
A handle shaped like a real golf grip that holds the Quest 3 controller, for games like GOLF+ and Walkabout Mini Golf.
Good: Natural hold and swing. Watch out: Quest 3 controllers only. Clear space around you.
€53 · See it
Table tennis: AMVR paddle grip
Turns the controller into a table tennis paddle with realistic weight, for Eleven Table Tennis and similar games.
Good: Much more precise spin and placement. Watch out: Choose the Quest 3 or Pico Neo 3 version.

Padel: Quest 3S + VR padel racket bundle
A Quest 3S 128 GB plus a 415–435 g padel racket that holds the controller. The racket also works for VR pickleball.
Good: Everything for virtual padel in one box. Watch out: This is a full headset bundle, not just the racket.

Which accessories fit the Quest 3S?
The Quest 3S has a different front shape from the Quest 3, so face masks, lens films and shells must match your model exactly. Straps, controller grips and power banks are mostly shared, because both headsets use the same strap mounts and the same Touch Plus controllers.

FAQ
What is the most important Quest 3 accessory?
A battery head strap. It fixes the two weak points of the headset at once: the soft stock strap that pushes the weight onto your face, and the short two-hour battery.
Do battery straps damage the Quest 3 battery?
No. The strap feeds the headset through its USB-C port, the same way a charger does. Use a quality strap with the right voltage, like the Made for Meta BOBOVR E3 Pro.
Do Quest 3 accessories fit the Quest 3S?
Straps, controller grips, cables and power banks mostly do. Face masks, lens films and shells do not, because the front of the 3S is shaped differently. Each product page lists its compatibility.
Do I need a link cable?
Only for PC VR. Air Link over Wi-Fi works well with a good router, but a cable gives a steadier picture and charges the headset while you play.
How do I protect the Quest 3 lenses?
Store the headset in a case, never leave it in sunlight, clean the lenses only with a dry microfibre cloth, and add a tempered-glass lens film.
Which strap is best for glasses wearers?
Any rigid strap helps, because it holds the headset without pressing it into your face. Add the glasses spacer that comes with the Quest 3, or prescription lens inserts.
