40x40 pivot joint connector: overview

This pivot joint connector joins two 40-series aluminium profiles at any angle through 180 degrees, so you can build angled braces, screen arms and custom mounts.

It is made of durable zinc alloy and fits 4040 profile with an 8 mm slot.

Use it to repair, extend or customise our profile cockpits and other extrusion rigs.

Compatibility

Rigs: our aluminium profile cockpits (NexusRig Fortress, Formula Hybrid, Titan, Vanguard, Sprint, Rookie, NexusHaul Truck) and other 8 mm T-slot extrusion rigs.

Mounting on aluminium profile rigs

The 8 mm slot standard. Most modern sim rigs use 40 mm-based aluminium extrusion (40x40, 40x80, 40x160) with 8 mm slots. Mounts fix with M8 bolts and T-nuts that slide into the slot, so they can be moved and re-angled at any time.

Rigidity and access. Mount heavy or high-force devices (handbrakes, shifters, wheel bases) as close to a vertical upright or cross member as possible. Leave room to get in and out of the seat.

Tools. A set of hex keys (mainly 6 mm for M8) covers nearly every mount. Snug every bolt, test, then do a final tightening once the position is right.

Setup and use

1. Fit the joint halves to each profile with T-nuts.
2. Set the angle.
3. Tighten the pivot bolt.

Care and maintenance

Retighten the pivot after adjusting.

Returns
