120 x 40 mm die-cast corner brackets: overview

These die-cast aluminium corner brackets, 120 mm high and 40 mm wide, join and reinforce aluminium extrusion on sim racing and flight sim rigs.

Use them to add a cross member, strengthen a joint, build a side support or repair a rig. Die-cast aluminium is strong, rigid and clean-looking.

Compatibility

For aluminium extrusion with 8 mm slots, typically 120x40 mm sections, as used on our NexusRig aluminium cockpits. Bolts and T-nuts are not included – check your profile size before ordering.

Mounting on aluminium profile rigs

The 8 mm slot standard. Most modern sim rigs use 40 mm-based aluminium extrusion (40x40, 40x80, 40x160) with 8 mm slots. Mounts fix with M8 bolts and T-nuts that slide into the slot, so they can be moved and re-angled at any time.

Rigidity and access. Mount heavy or high-force devices (handbrakes, shifters, wheel bases) as close to a vertical upright or cross member as possible. Leave room to get in and out of the seat.

Tools. A set of hex keys (mainly 6 mm for M8) covers nearly every mount. Snug every bolt, test, then do a final tightening once the position is right.

Setup and use

1. Slide M8 T-nuts into both profiles.
2. Fit the bracket across the joint and bolt it on.
3. Square the joint and tighten.

Care and maintenance

Check bolts occasionally on rigs with high torque or motion.

Returns
