Side-by-side shifter and handbrake mount kit: overview

This shifter and handbrake mount lets you run a gear shifter and a handbrake next to each other on the side of a steel tube cockpit, the classic layout for rally, drift and touring cars.

A solid shift stem keeps gear changes crisp under hard use, while adjustable mounting points let you set the handbrake exactly where your hand falls.

It fits on the left or right side of the NexusRig Classic and NexusRig Apex chassis, works with all leading shifters and handbrakes, and has a matte black finish that matches the rig. It is not made for aluminium profile rigs.

Rigs: NexusRig Classic and NexusRig Apex steel tube cockpits. Not suitable for aluminium extrusion rigs, which use our profile shifter and handbrake mounts.

Mounting on aluminium profile rigs

The 8 mm slot standard. Most modern sim rigs use 40 mm-based aluminium extrusion (40x40, 40x80, 40x160) with 8 mm slots. Mounts fix with M8 bolts and T-nuts that slide into the slot, so they can be moved and re-angled at any time.

Rigidity and access. Mount heavy or high-force devices (handbrakes, shifters, wheel bases) as close to a vertical upright or cross member as possible. Leave room to get in and out of the seat.

Tools. A set of hex keys (mainly 6 mm for M8) covers nearly every mount. Snug every bolt, test, then do a final tightening once the position is right.

Setup and use

1. Choose the left or right side of the chassis.
2. Bolt the mount to the tube frame.
3. Fit the shifter on the stem and the handbrake on its plate.
4. Set height and reach, then tighten everything.

Care and maintenance

Check bolts after the first few sessions and from time to time after hard use.

Shipping

Shipping is free on orders worldwide. Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days and typically arrive within 4–8 business days in total, with tracking sent by email. Large items such as cockpits, seats and monitor stands can ship in several boxes, customs or public holidays can occasionally add a few days, and some items ship directly from our supplier.

Returns

You have 14 days from delivery to return the product for a refund, for any reason. It must be new, unused and in its original packaging with all accessories and documents. Contact us at metanexusxr@gmail.com with your order number to start the return.

Warranty

Every new product bought from our store has a 3-year legal guarantee from delivery (1 year for refurbished items). If anything goes wrong, email us your order number and a short description or photo and we will handle the claim with you.
