Universal shifter and handbrake mounting plate: overview

This universal mounting plate holds a shifter and a handbrake on one bracket, side by side.

Its ambidextrous layout works for left- and right-hand drive, the height adjusts from 84 to 122 mm with the side bracket, and the handbrake mount has three angle settings in 9° steps.

Made of high-strength steel, it mounts on a desk with the flight base table clamp, directly on 40-series aluminium profile, or on DIY frames. Pre-drilled holes also take some NexusFlight desk gear.

Mounting on aluminium profile rigs

The 8 mm slot standard. Most modern sim rigs use 40 mm-based aluminium extrusion (40x40, 40x80, 40x160) with 8 mm slots. Mounts fix with M8 bolts and T-nuts that slide into the slot, so they can be moved and re-angled at any time.

Rigidity and access. Mount heavy or high-force devices (handbrakes, shifters, wheel bases) as close to a vertical upright or cross member as possible. Leave room to get in and out of the seat.

Tools. A set of hex keys (mainly 6 mm for M8) covers nearly every mount. Snug every bolt, test, then do a final tightening once the position is right.

Setup and use

1. Mount the plate on the clamp or the profile.
2. Bolt the shifter and handbrake on.
3. Set height and handbrake angle.

Returns
