NexusTension active seat belt tensioner: overview

The NexusTension is an active, dual-channel direct drive seat belt tensioner that pulls your harness in real time, so you feel the G-loads of heavy braking, cornering and acceleration – plus engine pulses, kerb strikes and road texture – through your body.

Each channel delivers 200 N (400 N combined). Supporting both vertical and lateral axes, it also brings positive and negative G, banked turns and weapon or flare effects to flight sims.

It is designed with voltage protection, speed-limiting logic and motion-lock compatibility, and it comes with a universal mounting bracket. Choose it without a harness, or with a red or black 4-point harness.

Who the nexusTension active seat belt tensioner is for

Drivers and pilots who want G-force feel:

  • Serious sim racers without a full motion platform
  • Rigs that already have motion
  • Flight simmers in combat and aerobatics
  • Training simulators

Features in detail

Dual-channel direct drive

200 N per channel, 400 N combined, independently controlled.

Racing effects

Braking, lateral G, cornering, wheel lock, rev limiter, engine vibration, gear shifts, oversteer, road roughness, pre-impact.

Flight effects

Positive and negative G, deceleration, banked turns, cannon/missile discharge and flare deployment where supported.

Safety

Voltage protection, speed-limiting logic and motion-lock compatibility.

Universal bracket included

Mounts under the seat on most cockpits.

Harness options

No harness, red 4-point or black 4-point.

Compatibility

PC, with supported racing and flight titles through the tensioner's software. Integrates with motion platforms that support its motion-lock signal.

Bracket fits most cockpits with seat brackets or slider rails, including our NexusRig Rookie, Sprint, Velocity and Apex. Not for the NexusRig Compact or Formula.

Adding motion and haptics to a rig

Haptics vs motion. Bass shakers turn engine, road and kerb effects into vibration you feel through the seat and pedals. Motion actuators physically move the rig to simulate pitch, roll and heave. Both add information that helps you feel grip.

Power and software. Shakers need an amplifier and a telemetry app such as SimHub; motion systems come with their own controller and software profiles for each game.

Isolation. Keep screens on a freestanding stand and use isolation feet so vibration and motion stay in the rig and not in the floor or the monitors.

Setup and use

  1. Mount the tensioner under your seat with the universal bracket.
  2. Route the belts through the low-friction slot inserts and fit your harness.
  3. Connect USB and the external power supply; set up the motion-lock if you have a motion system.
  4. Install the software, select your game and tune force levels starting low.

Care and maintenance

Start with low force settings and increase gradually. Check bracket bolts and belt condition regularly. Use the motion-lock with motion platforms.
