Side-mount bracket for Fanatec direct drive bases: overview

This side-mount bracket holds a Fanatec direct drive wheel base from the side instead of the bottom, for a stiffer mount and more freedom to set height and angle.

It is made of high-strength diecast aluminium, light but rigid under high-torque force feedback, and adjusts in angle, height and position.

It covers the whole Fanatec direct drive range, from CSL DD to Podium DD2, with spacer plate requirements spelled out, and fits most cockpits with a wheel plate.

Compatibility

Bases: Fanatec CSL DD (QR2), Gran Turismo DD Pro (QR2), ClubSport DD, ClubSport DD+, Podium DD1, Podium DD2, Podium DD and Gran Turismo DD Extreme (some need the spacer plate).

Rigs: NexusRig Classic, Apex, Compact, Formula and F1 Replica Emerald, NexusRig Sprint, Rookie and NexusHaul Truck, and any other cockpit with a wheel plate.

Mounting on aluminium profile rigs

The 8 mm slot standard. Most modern sim rigs use 40 mm-based aluminium extrusion (40x40, 40x80, 40x160) with 8 mm slots. Mounts fix with M8 bolts and T-nuts that slide into the slot, so they can be moved and re-angled at any time.

Rigidity and access. Mount heavy or high-force devices (handbrakes, shifters, wheel bases) as close to a vertical upright or cross member as possible. Leave room to get in and out of the seat.

Tools. A set of hex keys (mainly 6 mm for M8) covers nearly every mount. Snug every bolt, test, then do a final tightening once the position is right.

Setup and use

1. Fit the spacer plate if your base needs it.
2. Bolt the bracket to the base.
3. Bolt the bracket to the wheel plate and set angle and height.

Care and maintenance

Recheck the bolts after the first sessions at high torque.

Large items such as cockpits, seats and monitor stands can ship in several boxes, customs or public holidays can occasionally add a few days, and some items ship directly from our supplier.

Returns

You have 14 days from delivery to return the product for a refund, for any reason. It must be new, unused and in its original packaging with all accessories and documents. Contact us at metanexusxr@gmail.com with your order number to start the return.
