NexusMount direct drive front-mount plate: overview

This direct drive wheel mount plate is the plate-only part of our NexusMount system. It bolts between the NexusMount side mounts and front-mounts a direct drive wheel base, so the motor sits face-on to you with nothing in the way and no flex under full torque.

The idea behind NexusMount is simple: when you change wheel base, you only change the plate, not the whole cockpit. The base structure is thick-walled extruded aluminium and this plate is machined from high-grade aluminium, 15 mm thick, then anodised.

Please note that this listing is the plate only. It needs the NexusMount base kit (included in our NexusMount front-mount wheel kit) or a NexusRig Velocity cockpit, which already has the side mounts.

Features in detail

15 mm thick aluminium

At 15 mm the plate is extremely rigid, with no weak points, so the wheel base cannot twist the mount under heavy force feedback.

Front-mount layout

Front mounting bolts the base by its face, which is the stiffest way to hold a direct drive motor and leaves clean space under the base for cables.

Part of a modular system

The NexusMount system lets you swap only the plate when you change wheel base, keeping your side mounts, positions and cockpit unchanged.

Quick adjustment

Once fitted to the side mounts (supplied with the base kit and with the NexusRig Velocity), the plate is quick to reposition precisely.

All the hardware to fix the plate to the side mounts and the base is in the box.

Compatibility

Mounting system: requires the NexusMount base kit for aluminium profile rigs (total width 580 mm with the base kit) or a NexusRig Velocity cockpit. With the base kit it fits our aluminium profile rigs (NexusRig Fortress, Formula Hybrid, Titan, Vanguard, Sprint, Rookie, NexusHaul Truck Simulator), tube rigs (NexusRig Velocity, Velocity Carbon, GT Hybrid) and other DIY extrusion builds.

Building a sim racing or flight setup

Base, rim and pedals. In a modular setup the wheel base holds the force feedback motor, the rim clips on with a quick release and the pedals connect to the base or by USB. Rims and pedals must suit your base, and the base decides which platforms are supported.

Direct drive. Direct drive bases attach the rim straight to the motor for the most detailed and strongest feedback. They need a rigid cockpit or a strong desk mount.

Load cell pedals. A load cell brake measures pressure, not travel, like a real car. It is the single upgrade that improves lap-time consistency the most.

Setup and use

1. Make sure the NexusMount base kit (or your NexusRig Velocity side mounts) is installed.
2. Bolt the plate between the side mounts loosely.
3. Fix the wheel base to the plate through its front mounting holes.
4. Set the height, angle and reach, then tighten all bolts fully.
5. Re-check the bolts after the first sessions with high torque.

Care and maintenance

Direct drive bases put constant load through the mount, so check the bolts every few weeks. Wipe the anodised surface with a soft damp cloth; avoid abrasive pads.

Shipping

Shipping is free on orders worldwide. Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–3 business days and typically arrive within 4–8 business days in total, with tracking sent by email. Large items such as cockpits, seats and monitor stands can ship in several boxes, customs or public holidays can occasionally add a few days, and some items ship directly from our supplier.

Returns

You have 14 days from delivery to return the product for a refund, for any reason. It must be new, unused and in its original packaging with all accessories and documents. Contact us at metanexusxr@gmail.com with your order number to start the return.

Warranty

Products bought from our store are covered by a 2-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If anything goes wrong, email us your order number and a short description or photo and we will handle the claim with you.
