NexusRig Compact: overview

The NexusRig Compact is a sim racing cockpit with seat built from rigid carbon steel tubing, made for drivers who want a direct-drive-ready rig in a small footprint. Seat, wheel deck and pedal plate all adjust, and the frame extends to fit drivers from 140 cm up to 200 cm, so the whole family can use it.

It switches between a reclined and an upright position, so you can drive single-seaters one evening and GT or road cars the next. The frame is tested for direct drive wheel bases up to 25 Nm and has been fatigue-tested with a 150 kg static load over 16,000 cycles.

It works with wheels and pedals from all the major sim racing brands (see the compatibility list) on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and grows with optional mounts for a monitor, flight controls, bass shakers and more.

Who the nexusRig Compact is for

Drivers who want a complete, compact cockpit:

  • First-time cockpit buyers moving off a desk
  • Families with drivers of different heights (140–200 cm)
  • Direct drive owners up to 25 Nm
  • Small rooms where a full aluminium rig is too big
  • PC, PlayStation and Xbox players

Features in detail

Reclined and upright positions

The backrest reclines from 85° to 145°, so you can sit low like in a single-seater or upright like in a road car.

Fits 140–200 cm drivers

The expandable frame adjusts in length (1405–1530 mm overall) to fit young drivers and tall adults.

Direct drive ready to 25 Nm

Carbon steel tubing is tested with direct drive bases up to 25 Nm for stable, precise feedback.

Adjustable wheel deck

Wheel deck height, tilt (+7° / -14°) and 100 mm of horizontal slide put the wheel exactly where you want it.

Single-plate pedal adjustment

The pedal plate adjusts for distance (580–600 mm), height and angle (+18° / -56°).

Shifter and handbrake mount included

Angle and distance adjust so your shifter or handbrake stays comfortable whatever the frame setting.

Seat included

Faux leather and micro suede seat, so the rig is complete out of the box.

Expandable

Optional mounts for a single monitor (up to 50 in), dash display, keyboard and mouse, bass shaker, speakers, flight controls, and an accessory kit with castors, drink holder and headphone hook.

Pedals and shifters: the pedal plate and the shifter/handbrake mount take the major brands' pedals and shifters.

Choosing and building a sim rig

Rigidity first. A cockpit exists so the force your wheel base produces goes into your hands, not into a flexing frame. Direct drive bases need a stiff front mount; aluminium profile rigs (40 mm and 80 mm extrusion with 8 mm slots) are the stiffest and most adjustable, while steel tube rigs are lighter and quicker to assemble.

Driving position. GT position puts you upright with the pedals low; formula position reclines the seat and raises the pedals. Check whether the cockpit, seat bracket and pedal mount allow the position you want.

Plan the extras. Monitor stands, shifter and handbrake mounts, keyboard trays and PC shelves bolt onto most profile rigs. Planning them up front avoids drilling or re-assembling later.

Setup and use

  1. Assemble the frame using the quick-start guide (tools and cable ties are included).
  2. Set the frame length for the main driver's height.
  3. Mount the wheel base on the deck and the pedals on the plate.
  4. Choose reclined or upright and set the backrest angle.
  5. Adjust wheel height, tilt and reach, then pedal distance and angle, and tighten everything.

Care and maintenance

Check the frame bolts after the first week and then monthly, especially with a high-torque base. Wipe the steel with a damp cloth; clean faux leather with mild soap and brush the micro suede. Keep cables tidy with the included ties.
